Laura Downey

LAURA DOWNEY is a SVP and regional talent officer for the US region of Liberty Mutual’s global retail market. In her role she is responsible for providing consultative talent and HR thought leadership to the region’s 20,000 employees through the development and execution of a regional talent strategy in the areas of: workforce planning, talent management, learning & development, and employee engagement. Downey has been with Liberty for 20 years in roles spanning actuarial, product, distribution, transformation, and operations. Prior to this role, Downey led the GRM US service team in their mission to provide exceptional, efficient service experiences. She also previously served as chief transformation officer, VP, and senior director of product management and a director of state operations for Connecticut and Rhode Island, in addition to other roles. Downey is also an active member of the Woman’s Empowerment Employee Relations Group, previously leading the Parent Experience committee.
