Christine Frederick

Christine Frederick has led the U.S. insurance group compliance division at MassMutual since July, 2011. This division is responsible for evaluating applicability of laws, regulations and regulatory developments impacting the insurance company, broker/dealer and investment advisor; designing and implementing risk-based compliance programs to prevent, detect and correct violations and formulating compliance strategies and positions that protect policyholders and the businesses of MassMutual and its distributing partners. In addition this division interfaces with regulators to respond to regulatory inquires and exams and negotiates/advocates on the company’s behalf. Frederick has over 20 years’ legal and compliance experience in the insurance, annuity and broker-dealer arena. Prior to joining MassMutual, she worked for Lincoln Financial Group as head of litigation responsible for minimizing legal risks and exposure as well as formulating litigation strategies for regulatory enforcement matters. Previous to that role, she led the compliance organization for Lincoln Financial’s life, annuity and insurance products groups. She began her career at CIGNA where she, among other roles, provided compliance advice to the broker-dealer and registered investment advisors as well as established a centralized life insurance compliance program. Frederick is a graduate of Northeastern University and earned a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. @massmutual
