Tracy Accardi

TRACY ACCARDI joined Hologic, as the vice president of research and development for the breast health and skeletal health division in September 2014. Hologic is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of diagnostic and medical imaging systems in women’s health that improve patient outcomes and drive clinical utility. Accardi was most recently the chief technology officer for OmniGuide Surgical, a late-stage commercial startup in the advanced surgical energy device space. Prior to that role, she was vice president of global research and development for the vascular therapies division at Covidien. She has worked with several major medical device companies besides Covidien, including Johnson & Johnson, Philips Healthcare (a subsidiary of Royal Philips Electronics) and GE Healthcare. She sits on the board of “A Better Chance,” a nonprofit organization based in New York City committed to the education of academically talented and promising young women from underserved communities, and also serves on the board of overseers at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Accardi earned dual B.S. in mechanical engineering and engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, P.A. She also earned an M.S. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. @hologic
