Mary Mahony
Mary Mahony is vice president, fertility and endocrinology, in US medical affairs at EMD Serono. In this role, she is responsible for the medical team and its medical strategy and medical activities for these therapeutic areas. She has more than 15 years of demonstrated expertise in the pharmaceutical industry at EMD Serono, Organon, Schering-Plough and Regeneron in medical affairs and clinical development roles. Before moving to the pharmaceutical industry, Mahony held the rank of associate professor and division director, reproductive sciences, at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School and adjunct associate professor in the department of biological sciences at Old Dominion University, both in Norfolk, Virginia. There she maintained a fully supported research program, mentored the research efforts of graduate students and reproductive endocrinology fellows and was certified as a high complexity laboratory director of an infertility clinical laboratory. Her early years in the infertility therapeutic area were spent setting up what was the fifth IVF center in the US in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has authored or co-authored more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals with 100 published abstracts presented at national and international meetings. @emdserono
