Laura Vail Wooster is vice president and head of marketing and communications for John Hancock’s insurance division. In this capacity, Wooster oversees a team responsible for advertising, creative services, digital marketing, internal and external communications, market research, marketing collateral, promotions, public relations and websites for John Hancock Insurance. Her team has won numerous industry awards for their creative marketing campaigns and websites, most recently for an industry-first online selling system. Wooster has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years across multiple product lines. Previously she has been responsible for various aspects of insurance marketing, including communications, consumer and producer websites and innovative marketing programs. Earlier in her career, Wooster was a strategic marketing manager focused on new market opportunities. She also served as an account executive in John Hancock’s international group program, which provides employee benefits to more than 500 multinational corporations worldwide. Prior to John Hancock, Wooster worked as an associate at Manufacturers Hanover Bank in New York. Wooster earned an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. She serves on the board of the Powers Music School in Belmont, MA and actively supports the Belmont schools, Dana Farber/Jimmy Fund and other human rights and homelessness causes.
