Allene M. Diaz

Allene M. Diaz is senior vice president of managed markets at EMD Serono, Inc.. Diaz has more than 25 years of both U.S.-based and international industry experience. Prior to her current role, Diaz served as the senior vice president, U.S. oncology for EMD Serono. Before joining EMD Serono, she served in senior leadership roles in marketing, new product planning, and portfolio management at Amylin Pharmaceuticals, CancerVax Corporation, Biogen Idec and Pfizer. She has been involved in the development and commercialization of several major brands such as Rituxan (rituximab), Rezulin (troglitazone), and Bydureon (exenatide for extended-release injectable suspension). Diaz started her professional career with Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals as a sales representative. She served as a medical liaison for several years before moving into marketing. Diaz is an active member of the HBA (Healthcare Business Women’s Association) and has served as a mentor in the HBA mentorship program. She also recently served as a member of the American Cancer Society Volunteer Council. She is a newly appointed board member of Friends of Caritas Cubana, a non-profit organization that works to support humanitarian, emergency, and social services to the people of Cuba. Diaz studied at the Institute of European Studies in Madrid, Spain and earned a B.S. at Florida State University. @EMDSERONO
