Maureen Alphonse-Charles
Maureen Alphonse-Charles is vice president of executive acquisition for City Year. In this capacity she leads the executive recruiting for leaders and fundraisers nationwide covering 24 US locations. Over the past 20 years, Alphonse-Charles has held numerous positions in national and international recruitment.Some of Alphonse-Charles’ most notable projects include succession planning for national organizations as well as working extensively with national not-for-profits, including executive searches for the National Urban League, United Way, Girl Scouts and the YWCA. She also worked to secure the executive team at Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys and Girls Club of Boston. She is an active participant in many civic, business and community affairs, having been honored by the Boston Junior Chamber of Commerce as one of the ten most outstanding young leaders in Boston and twice-nominated as a top recruitment expert by Boston’s Women’s Business Journal. Most recently honored as one of The Boston Business Journal’s WomenUp – Local Women of Influence for 2013. Alphonse-Charles has also served multiple times on the regional selection committee for the White House Fellows Program. She currently serves as a board member of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and The Boston Club, is vice chair of The Bessie Tart Wilson Children’s Foundation, and is an overseer at WGBH. Alphonse-Charles earned a B.A. from Boston University (Magna Cum Laude) and an M.A.L.D. from Tufts University, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
