Linda Dorcena Forry
Born and raised in Dorchester, State Representative Linda Dorcena Forry has dedicated her professional life to a career in public service, working in various capacities in state and local government. As a first generation Haitian American, she learned from her parents a strong work ethic and the importance of a quality education. Elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2005, Representative Forry represents the Commonwealth’s 12th Suffolk district. As a State Representative, she has championed improvements to the state’s education system, economic growth, job creation and business development efforts. In 2009, Representative Forry was appointed chairman of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business. She has also served on the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy and the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security and is the current president of the Massachusetts Legislators Association and the former chair of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus. Representative Forry has also served on numerous boards throughout the city and state that support improvements to the state’s education system, economic growth, job creation and business development efforts across the Commonwealth. Representative Forry holds a bachelor’s degree from the Boston College Carroll School of Management and is currently a master’s degree candidate in Public Administration at Harvard University.
