Kathrin Schoenborn-Sobolewski
KATHRIN SCHOENBORN-SOBOLEWSKI is vice president of global clinical operations at Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany. After several years in public pharmacies and with SANDOZ she joined Merck KGaA in October 1995. Overall, Schoenborn-Sobolewski has more than 25 years of global healthcare experience in project leadership, business development, commercial, strategic innovation, change management and global clinical operations. She is recognized as an inspiring leader with a proven track record of success in building and leading high performing teams, running smaller as well as large global functions, designing and implementing change and transformations and driving delivery and results. She is also passionate about diversity in the business, as an active volunteer with the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) in the European chapter. She co-founded and built the HBA Greater Frankfurt location to one of the top areas in Europe, including a very successful mentoring program. In 2015 she was honored as HBA Luminary for Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany as a role model, active mentor and sponsor to others and an example of transformational leadership. Schoenborn-Sobolewski is a pharmacist and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Bonn, Germany.
