Dr. Oneeka Williams
ONEEKA WILLIAMS is on a mission to educate, empower and enrich the lives of children, especially girls, toward a greater interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and math. As founder and president of Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo LLC, Dr. Williams has developed a mechanism to engage children in the joys of science at an early age. Dr. Williams has combined her love of science, medicine, public health and writing to create global impact. To further her advocacy of literacy and science education, she is authoring the “Dr. Dee Dee Dynamo” book series of illustrated children’s books. These books feature a girl super surgeon and have been embraced by children and educators across the country and in various parts of the world. She is currently working on the environmental science series of the books, and received the 2014 Science Club for Girls Catalyst award for diversity and innovation in science. Dr. Williams is a distinguished urologic surgeon at St Elizabeth’s Medical Center and assistant clinical professor at Tufts Medical School. Dr. Williams earned a B.A. in biophysics at Johns Hopkins University, an M.D., MPH at Harvard Medical School and School of Public Health and surgical training at MGH and Lahey Clinic. @droneeka
