Dr. Annie Winkler

DR. ANNIE WINKLER is the chief medical officer (CMO) of Werfen, a worldwide leader in specialized diagnostics, where she is responsible for leading the medical affairs function across all Werfen core business units. Prior to becoming CMO, Winkler held the roles of vice president of reagent research and development and medical afairs for Werfen’s Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics business unit from 2018 to 2024 and served as Werfen’s first director of medical affairs from 2016 to 2018. Prior to joining Werfen in 2016, Winkler was a faculty member in the department of pathology at Emory University, medical director of the transfusion service at Grady Health System, and co-director of the Emory Healthcare Special Coagulation Lab. Her expertise lies in the diagnostic evaluation and management of hemorrhagic or thrombotic disorders.
