BEVERLY JOHNSON made history as the first African American woman to appear on the cover of American Vogue in August 1974, forever changing the beauty ideal in the fashion world. Beverly is a part of The Black List, a photographic assembly of 50 of the most influential African Americans in America, and her portrait has hung in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. Beverly has appeared on more than 500 magazine covers. The New York Times named her as one of the 20th Century’s 100 Most Influential People in the Fashion Industry. Beverly is actively involved in building the Beverly Johnson Luxurious Lifestyle brand in the fashion, beauty and media industries, and is the author of several books including her NYT best-selling memoir, The Face That Changed It All. Beverly serves on the Board of Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center and is an international spokesperson for Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
