Beth Phalen

BETH PHALEN is president and GM of the data protection division at Dell EMC. She is responsible for leading a global team to deliver Dell EMC’s industry leading data protection portfolio to customers worldwide.  In this capacity she oversees the engineering marketing and product management teams, drives the portfolio strategy and works closely with sales and global services to ensure successful end to end execution of the business.She is based in Dell EMC’s office in Hopkinton, MA. Phalen joined Dell EMC through its combination at EMC where she served as SVP for data protection and availability. During her seventeen years at EMC, she held leadership positions in a variety of product groups, including management software teams and multi-pathing SW. Prior to EMC, she was an architect in the advanced solutions group in IBM Global Services and spent twelve years as a software engineer at Digital Equipment.  She earned a BS in computer science from WPI and a MS in computer science from Brown University. Phalen is a member of SWE, is on the board of directors for NACME, and is an active WPI alumni, including serving on the industry advisory board for the WPI computer science department and the WPI Women’s Impact Network. @dellemc
