Making a Big Difference with First-Ever Community Corner
The Massachusetts Conference for Women was proud to partner with Building Impact in our first-ever Community Corner at the Dec. 6 Conference. Building Impact works to strengthen communities by providing individuals and companies with the knowledge and opportunity to volunteer, donate, and connect in the buildings where they work or live.
Attendees’ donations and time helped Building Impact assemble 861 toiletry kits to be distributed to homeless women (through Rosie’s Place and YWCA) and 120 Birthday Wish Bags to be given to homeless children (through Birthday Wishes). In addition, attendees wrote heartfelt letters to members of our military currently in harm’s way (through Any Soldier Inc.) and made fleece blankets to be given to a low-income family (through Project Hope).
The bottom line is that over 1,000 people will be touched by the generosity shown by all involved in the conference.
“We are thrilled by the response from the attendees,” said Justin Berke, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Building Impact. “This exceeded my expectations by a factor of 10.”
