Kristi Mitchem

Kristi Mitchem is a senior managing director of State Street Global advisors and head of the Americas institutional client group. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of SSgA’s growing institutional business. She ensures clients are serviced at the highest level, and works closely with product teams to drive product innovation and evolution to meet client needs. Many of the SSgA businesses report to Mitchem, including global defined contribution. Additionally, Mitchem is a member of SSgA’s senior leadership team. Prior to joining SSgA, she worked at BlackRock, where she most recently served as managing director and head of the U.S. defined contribution business, responsible for building with a focus on delivering products for individual 401k investors. She joined Barclays Global Investors (BGI) in 2005 as head of U.S. transition services. Previously Mitchem worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. in various sales and management roles. She has over 17 years of experience in the defined contribution and equities markets. Mitchem earned a B.A. in political science from Davidson College and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
