Imani McFarlane

Imani McFarlane is an internationally acclaimed designer known for exquisite designs and for her preoccupation with “highlighting and enhancing the healing dimensions of beautifying and styling.”  McFarlane is the founder of the House of Tafari Collection, a design house in Boston offering exquisite head wraps, head wrapping services and educational workshops.  She blends sparkling colors and patterns of Africa and the Caribbean with the elegant allure of European haute couture, creating her own unique style.  McFarlane’s designs grace runways in New York, London, Lima and Jamaica. House of Tafari’s head wraps are endorsed by American Cancer Society and worn by Queen Ifrica in video “Daddy.”  McFarlane works nationally facilitating workshops on “The Art of African Head Wrapping” and  She also teaches “Creating Textile with Adinkra Symbols” at The Schomburg, New York University, Boston Public Library, Mass College of Art and Design, Spelman College and The American Cancer Society’s quality of life program. McFarlane is a goodwill ambassador for her alma mater, Fisher College in Boston.
