Career Spotlight: A Tale of Two Degrees and a Job Fair

When Margaret Kudzotsa was considering graduate school, she wanted to build off the foundation of her undergraduate degree in telecommunications engineering, while diversifying her skills and knowledge. Bentley’s innovative MS+MBA program provided the double vision she was seeking.

“I chose Bentley because I could complete two degrees in two years,” Kudzotsa explains. “That, and the clear relevance of information technology in Bentley’s business courses, made it a clear choice for me.”

Bentley’s MS+MBA is designed for students who want to be effective leaders in today’s tech-savvy organizations. The program combines the breadth of a Bentley MBA with the deep technical skills of a Master of Science degree in information technology.

The experience paid off for Kudzotsa. And, thanks to some help from Bentley’s Office of Career Services, she landed a job at Hitachi Consulting.

Kudzotsa first came into contact with the company at a Bentley-sponsored career fair. When an IT consulting position there was eventually posted, she got to work: practicing interviewing skills through the BentleyLink online resource and working with her dedicated adviser to gain any other kind of edge.

“My Career Services adviser was a great help and mentor,” says Kudzotsa. “She not only coached me, but also connected me with Bentley alumni working at Hitachi.”

In the end, taking a chance was the key to Kudzotsa’s success.

“Hitachi gave me a great opportunity to work with diverse companies and in different industries,” she says. “Even though I hadn’t considered consulting, I decided to accept the offer!”
