JULIE A. PLANCHET is vice president and general manager of the portable analytical instruments business at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In her current role, Planchet is focused on driving profitable growth and on delivering the company’s mission to “enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.”  The spectroscopy products in her business are used to quickly and easily identify materials in the field, keeping first responders and the public safe, attacking the opioid crisis through the identification of narcotics, and proactively identifying potential industrial infrastructure failures.  Planchet has more than 10 years of experience leading multi-international businesses for Cabot Corporation, Dow Chemical, Rohm and Haas and Shipley Company. She is passionate about developing diverse leadership teams that bring different experiences, skill sets and approaches to build successful strategies. Planchet earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and a M.B.A. from Babson College. @thermofisher
