Jennie Orrico

JENNIE ORRICO serves as Shire’s chief compliance and risk officer, with responsibility for all of Shire’s compliance efforts globally and enterprise risk management.  Prior to joining Shire, she was vice president and associate general counsel for compliance at Baxalta.  In this role, she led the spin-off of the ethics and compliance program from Baxter, and was responsible for all facets of Baxalta’s healthcare compliance efforts.  Orrico focuses on business partnership to drive compliance as a competitive advantage for the company.   Prior to leading Baxalta’s global compliance efforts, she worked for almost 10 years in various roles of increasing responsibility with the ethics and compliance and regulatory law teams at Baxter.  Orrico was widely recognized at Baxter for her leadership, teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.  She started her career at the law firm of Ungaretti & Harris LLP, where she worked as a lawyer in the healthcare department, representing hospitals and health systems on various regulatory, compliance and general counsel matters. Orrico earned a J.D., with certificate in health law, from DePaul University College of Law and a B.A. in international affairs and political science from Marquette University.  @shireplc
