Bernadette Lim

Bernadette Lim is a STRIDE Scholar and student at Harvard University studying human biology, women’s studies and global health policy. She is passionate about the intersection of women’s health and civil rights. Lim is the co-founder and executive director of Women SPEAK, a girls’ health and empowerment program that has gained national attention as via the Clinton Global Initiative University Commitment to Action and Brave Life Project by Keds, Seventeen magazine, and Girls’ Leadership Institute. Lim is also the lead author and editor of the 2014 report on the “Status of Women and Girls in Boston” supported by the Boston Foundation and the Boston Office of Women’s Advancement. At Harvard, she directed the Women’s Policy Group at the Harvard Institute of Politics and founded the Asian American Women’s Association. She received a full scholarship to study abroad in Kenya last summer on girls’ health interventions and continues to do global health research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Lim also serves on the National Youth Council for the March of Dimes and volunteers as an advocate for Health Leads.
